Its humanitarian program in the camps has been focusing on food security until 2016. The program has transitioned from emergency aid to a combination of humanitarian (focusing on WASH and Food Security) and resilience interventions with policy and influencing work locally and globally. Oxfam's program to strengthen the Food and Nutrition Security of refugees has for years focused on distributing food, especially fresh product, awareness raising on good food consumption and conservation practices and supporting local agricultural production. In order to complement its action in strengthening of Food and Nutritional Security for refugees, Oxfam in Algeria is seeking a project assistant, to contribute to set up the various field activities of the Food Security Department.Job PurposeThe holder of this position will be responsible for implementing various field activities of food assistance and support for local agricultural production.Job Responsibilities TechnicalParticipate in assessments and identification of new project beneficiaries.Participate in the implementation of the various project activities: family gardens, regional gardens, women cooperatives, support for agricultural and the organization of training for beneficiaries.Participate in the monitoring of field activities by reporting the difficulties and problems encountered and providing adequate solutions.Monitoring and supervision of the project field monitors.Participate in the establishment of supporting documents for each activity and proceed to their physical and digital archiving.Ensure reporting and monitoring of activities according work plan and activities indicators. CoordinationCoordination with partners and local authorities for the implementation of project activities.Coordinate with Oxfam departments (Administration, HR, logistics, MEAL ...);Participate in team meetings and other meetings as appropriate OtherWork flexibly and take on additional tasks as may be delegated to meet programmatic objectives.Take necessary actions to ensure that food security activities adhere to Oxfam’s principles and values as well as the promotion of gender justice and women's rights.Ensure that the food security activities adhere to equity, diversity, gender, child safety and staff health and wellbeing principles.Job RequirementsEducation & Experience:A relevant qualification in food security, nutrition or agriculture is desirable but substantial practical experience could be considered in its place.A good knowledge in the implementation of projects with humanitarian or development organizationsHave a good experience with the Voucher assistant mechanism.Fluency in English and Spanish, speaking and writingFrench would be an added advantage.Very good writing skills Key Attributes:Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues, as well as the commitment to equal opportunities.Ability to demonstrate an openness and willingness to learn about the application of gender/gender mainstreaming, women’s rights, and diversity for all aspects of development work.Commitment to Oxfam’s safeguarding policies to ensure all people who come into contact with Oxfam are as safe as possible.Good facilitation skill and able to accommodate different view of participants, understanding and experience;Good written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English and local languages.Proven experience in conducting similar training particularly for I/NGOs employees.Organisational Values:Accountability – Our purpose-driven, results-focused approach means we take responsibility for our actions and hold ourselves accountable.
