The 2007 Nissan X-Trail is the second generation (T31 chassis code) and was introduced in early 2007. It was a completely new vehicle compared to the first generation, though it retained a similar design language. Key improvements included moving the instrument cluster from the dashboard to behind the steering wheel and providing more rear legroom. It was built on the same C platform as the Renault Koleos.
